Wilkommen to Christa’s Museum, a website to commemorate and research the life and work of one of great women in 20th century’s history, Christa Winsloe (Christa Kate Winsloe / Christa Hatvany / Christa von Hatvany/ Christa Hatvany-Winsloe, Baroness Christa Hatvany) (23 December, 1888—10 June, 1944.)

Who: Christa is mostly famous as the writer of Mädchen in Uniform (1931 film about love between the teacher and her pupil and revolt against Prussian education system based on reality and the book Das Mädchen Manuela [CLICK].) Also: lesbian*, great animal sculptor and drawer, English teacher (short time, worked with adults), French Resistance member etc.

(* unfortunately, there was a man Ezio Pinza in between of times  Christa/Thompson & Christa/Gentet, so combined with a friend's opinion, pansexual who mainly preferred women. Updated 6.21.2021)

The idea to gather everything about and related to Christa (in a separate place) has been in my head since 2012-2013, but it has never happened. At the time, there weren’t much photos (but MORE than two; because Wikipedia lied) and articles.

Why Christa’s museum? In November, 2018 when I'd found one priceless paper (a letter handwritten by Great Christa Herself), my thought was, "It ought to be in Christa's museum that should exist somewhere,” and then once more (a photo of Christa as Italian or Greek Goddess, but rather Italian for she traveled to Italy some time.) If not off-line, then it should exist on-line, at least. Thus, here it is. (Since 13 Oct. 2019).

Danke für allen, deine liebe.

Languages: English with some German here and there, and if some articles are in another languages, these ones too.
