 The second place of living (new town) was an unfinished palace :O :)

It turned out that this was a private palace built before the war of 1870–71, whose construction was interrupted by the war.

(Es stellte sich heraus, daß dies ein vor dem Krieg 1870/71 erbautes Privatpalais war, dessen Bau durch den Krieg unterbrochen wurde.)
